 | Dr. Low Chee Kwang is a Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon. He is working at the United Orthopaedic Specialist at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre and United Orthopaedic Centre at Mount Alvernia Medical Centre. He served in the public service for 18 years. He was formally working for the National Health Care Group as Senior Consultant in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Visiting Senior Consultant in National University Hospital. He was clinical senior lecturer in National University of Singapore. |
He represented Singapore Orthopaedic Association in Visiting America, Hong Kong and Asean Countries. He received numerous academic and service awards. Among them are Young Investigator Award, Young Scientist Award, Best Overall Paper Award. Dr. Low Chee Kwang was trained in Singapore for his medical degrees; Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and Master of Medicine in Surgery. Subsequently, he obtained the higher degrees in United Kingdom; the Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow and in Singapore, Fellow of Academy of Medicine in Orthopedic Surgery. He trained in University of California San Francisco for Upper Limb Surgery and Microsurgery, in University of Freiburg; Germany and University of Berne Switzerland for Upper Limb Trauma and in Chang Gung University; Taipei for Brachial Plexus Injury and Reconstruction of Paralyzed Upper Limb. He is the international advisor of Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow as he published extensively his experience in many renowned prestigious foreign journals as well as local journals. He speaks in many foreign and local medical conferences to share his knowledge and experience in the recent advances in Orthopedics, Upper Limb, Hand, microsurgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He published a book called Know Your Bones and Joints, a book for Layman which covers many common Orthopaedic Conditions and latest advances in Minimally Invasive Surgery. His book emphasizes a lot on prevention of the common conditions. Besides doing General Orthopaedics for Adults & Children, Arthroscopy, Joint Replacement, Trauma, Tumour, Sport Injury and Spine, his subspecialty is in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Upper Limb Surgery, Hand & Microsurgery and Brachial Plexus Surgery. His special interest is in Minimally Invasive Surgery that involves using advance technique to perform the surgery with smallest incision that allow patient to recover faster. The smaller scars are not obvious and can easily hide under the clothing.
